On Confirmation Sunday, our Sullivan's Island Campus will not have the 9:30 AM Contemporary Service. We will have a combined service at 11 AM with the Bishop.
Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which we express a mature commitment to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands by a Bishop who had hands laid upon him by other Bishops who had hands laid upon them, in direct succession all the way back to the original twelve Apostles.
At Confirmation, we "confirm" the vows made for us by our sponsors who baptized us as children. We also renew the covenant our parents and godparents made on our behalf as we publicly promise to follow Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
