Elizabeth was born and raised in Sullivans Island and Charleston, and although her official church home growing up was St. Philip's Charleston, she attended Holy Cross every summer and fondly remembers Vacation Bible School in the old parish hall. Elizabeth met her late husband, Deacon Tom Simmonite, at Holy Cross and enjoyed serving with him in many ministries over the years. Her hobbies include travel (her favorite continent so far is Africa), reading, cooking and baking, and cheering on the National Champion Clemson Tigers. Elizabeth lives in Sullivans Island (in the same house her parents lived in when she was born that was built by her grandmother) with her two kitties, Sweet Pea and Poppy.
