HIS School is a licensed faith-based preschool with South Carolina Childcare. This certification is difficult to achieve and maintain and should give you peace in knowing your child’s preschool follows the highest standard for safety, education, and care available in the area. This distinction is established by the regulatory process within The Department of Social Services (DSS) and The Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). In order to achieve this certification, HIS directors, teachers, staff, and substitutes must complete annual background security checks, 15-20 hours of annual continuing education, and regular immunizations & physical examinations. In addition, HIS buildings, grounds, classrooms, and playgrounds must meet regulatory & fire safety codes for the ultimate safety & security of the children.

NOTICE OF NONDISCRIMINATION POLICY FOR STUDENTS

Holy Cross Island School admits students of any race, color, national, or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally available to students. It does not discriminate based on race, color, national or ethnic origin in administering its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, and other school-administered programs.

HIS Schoolers, ages 2-4, can participate in this popular fundraiser weekly. HIS School provides each child pizza and fruit once a week, giving parents a much-needed lunch-making break weekly! We support a local pizzeria IOP Pizza and the Pizza Pass covers your child for the whole year. All profits go directly into our HIS School fund. Funds are used to cover school improvements and basic supplies. This fundraiser is optional for each family.

Please pack a lunch from home as usual for those families not participating. We hope this will come as a nice “break” from packing lunch, be fun for the kids, and help the school raise funds for improvements. We thank you in advance for your support!!

The South Carolina Aquarium is visiting HIS School with some of their amazing animals to teach us about water, wild life, and wild places in this interactive learning experience. We are excited for students to dive into a vibrant ocean habitat to learn where animals live underneath the sea. Students will get to see and touch some of the animals and learn about animal habitats around us.
