As parents, we could not be more thrilled with our Holy Cross Island School experience. We are so grateful for the small class sizes that help create a nurturing environment where each child truly feels seen and supported by the teachers. The teachers genuinely care about each child and, due to the small class size, can focus on specific needs and areas for growth and create a more personalized learning experience. The teachers are focused on academics and emphasize and nurture kindness, compassion, inclusiveness, and faith in daily interactions. 

The loving, Christian school community is unlike anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. The school community is welcoming and supportive, making us feel like part of a small village. For our family, the willingness of teachers and staff to accommodate outside therapy assistance has been a tremendous blessing. The teachers and staff have ensured that outside therapy sessions integrate seamlessly into the day-to-day activities without disrupting routines or the class. These accommodations have ensured our children receive the essential early intervention and support they need to normalize and thrive upon entering grade level.

We could not have asked for a better place for our children to grow, learn by the sea, and build a strong foundation for the future. Holy Cross Island School is a true gem, and we recommend the school to any family seeking a supportive early education experience.

As the first half of the year comes to a close, I just wanted to say what a fantastic year it has been for the new kindergarten class! My child has come home excited, motivated, and filled with wonder daily. Ms Jessica and Ms. Wendy have created such a fantastic group of little learners who are engaged and empowered. Jessica and Wendy are the types of kindergarten teachers you hope your child has. They make learning magical and fun. They’re the types of teachers who have glitter and rainbows in their pockets and smile on their faces every day. The academics of the class have been outstanding and my husband and I are in awe of what our son is learning. Still, aside from that, the small environment and continued focus on biblical principles has also been excellent. 

In the past several years, the Lord has really laid it on our hearts that our children needed to be in a small Christian environment, and being able to continue with kindergarten at Holy Cross has truly been an answer to our prayers. 

I hope and pray that Holy Cross continues offering kindergarten so that other families can benefit from it in the future.
